Manhood is written

If you did not know then you should know now that the way a person becomes self-confident, gain strength, and success, is by living through times and daily experience. Paul D new that oppression is as real as its oppressor because he was a victim of slavery. Furthermore, manhood can live strong but can also be violated, shaped and ruined by genuine evil. “We are controlled by our confusion far more than we are aware." (James Baldwin) It is certain that slavery is an experience that has multiple destructive side effects that can solidify a person’s Manhood and their life. The idea of the notion to enslave people was created by those who have been mentally corrupted and misguided by the power of supremacy, evil, time, and most of all greed. Looking back in time, “Some of the most devastating conditions that the poor face today are legacies of the Reagan era. Reagan slashed the budgets for so-called entitlement programs such as Medicaid, food stamps, the Environmental Protection Agency, Community Development Block Grants, and federal education programs by 60 percent. He froze the minimum wage at 3.35 an hour and cut public housing and Section 8” The Rich and the Rest of Us (63). That is a prime example of higher power moves made while introducing the “advanced oppression using punitive acts on the people living in poverty,” by Ronald Reagans red hands.  That was U.S evil power trip that benefited the rich and demonized the lives of poor Americans. There is no question why American citizens today have less power than we should. And we the people are being like cattle. We have to avoid being raised to be eaten up by society and its future plans. It is immoral to have another person’s freedom; moreover slavery is as real as a slave master and trauma..

 Sometimes people have to fight to gain freedom or respect, which will eventually form order in their man hood that birth from psychosocial development. Paul D was using the strength of a man who has been violated and abused but not yet spiritually broken. With his man hood in affect he had fired back at “Beloved” out of her flesh “Leave the place alone! Get the hell out!” A table rushed toward him and he grabbed its leg. Somehow he managed to stand at an angle and, holding the table by two legs, he bashed it about, wrecking everything, screaming back at the screaming house. “You want to fight, come on!” (22) Being strong, brave, and knowledgeable are key factors of one who has control over their man or womanhood. “Manhood is the state of being human or manly (Webster dictionary)

 Responsibility, trials and tribulations, are the things that would govern the limitations of one’s capability or well-being. Paul D wanted to protect his new family so he fought the only way he knew how. Though everyone has a breaking point, which is the moment when all negative pressure becomes uncontrollable. A soul can be broken and lost and sometimes one would have to seek for answers like “tell me something, stamp. “Paul D’s eyes were rheumy. “Tell me this one thing. How much is a nigger supposed to take? Tell me. How much? ” “All he can,” said Stamp Paid. “All he can.” “Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?” A sane man can crack but it is up to us not to brake. Search long and hard for answers to the problems that matter in order to revers confusion. If you did not know, then you should know now “As the number of Blacks in “Frying Pan Park” swells, it adds to the empirical data that attempts to argue that racism no longer exists, even though you know it does.” Obviously is alive, being that the ratio of our past presidents is 43 whites to one black today. Post black, Toure (117) Connecting to the caseloads living with the after effects of being descendants of enslaved victims. Organized hatred is crucial and extremely hindering the roots of black culture, spirits, and human growth. It is amazing how the turkey analysis is aligned with today’s time. Just because we have some rich and wealthy African Americans does not mean that in today’s time is not corrupted by the same type of evil.

Wickedness is true and it is combined with slavery connecting back to slavery’s era of black brutality at operation sweet home. The name Sweet Home is the biggest oxymoron of all, because it was nothing sweet about it. It is the Dragons who ran the slave trade for profit, that we forget about and they are still active and at large healthy and alive.  Paul D was a strong man who had a love-hate relationship with the “ghost of slavery” Beloved, because “he wanted her out, but set had let her in and he couldn’t put her out of a house that wasn’t his. It was one thing to beat up a ghost, quiet another to throw a helpless coloredgirl out in territory in the affected by the Klan. Desperately thirsty for black blood, without which it could not live the dragon swam the Ohio at will.” (79) Some type of love was there accompanying manhood. His actions spoke as the Head of the household and black protector. He wanted her out but his conscience would not let his heart be voided. He was his own best thing at that particular moment because if he would have made her leave and she died by the evil he had knowledge of, his conscious would have eight him dead. It is time for people to start to live so that they can live longer while we have more privilege. Whereas ciphering slavery, “it was school teacher who taught them otherwise. A truth that waved like a scarecrow in Rye: they were only sweet home and at sweet home. One step off that ground and they were trespassers among the human race. Watchdogs without teeth; steer bulls without horns; gelded workhorses whose neigh and whinny could not be translated into a language responsible humans spoke. His strength had lain in knowing that schoolteacher was wrong.” (Beloved) Common sense comes naturally as well as karma comes in due season. Living in knowing that “they are more of us they drowned then there is all of them ever lived from the start of time.”(287)

Owning yourself and claiming man hood is being aware of “current” events and being able to raise questions as well as embracing self-opinions for change are all part of expressing ones strength. Taking control and counter acting trauma is vital in one’s quests for liberation. “This probably sounds like therapy speak,” said Wahneema Lubiano, “and I probably have spent too many years in therapy, but there’s a moment when you’re hinting for the 50^th fucking time about some trauma and you suddenly realize that you’re really not venting anymore, you’re just telling the story as it happened.” You’re no longer tearing up every time you think about it. You’re no longer shutting yourself for what’s happened to you. You just saying yes, so then this thing happen, and you hear it in your voice. You’re really bored with the trauma. So for me watch and Chappelle I thought, “is what it looks like when you are no longer caught up by your own trauma about racism and the history of black people in the United States.’ Then everything is up for grabs as a possibility of art and performance art. Because you are not wearing the trauma anymore, you get to use something that produced all that, and do something else with it.” Post blackness (60) it’s time to use the trauma created by slavery as fuel for the fire that burns for S.O.S.

Surely, life is full of evil and unjustified criminal actions and on the flipside Love is also alive and healthy waiting to be used by caring people. Love can be used to kill the ideas of evil. The same evil that test other people’s man hood exist because it was not taught the nature of loyal human etiquette. Leadership is needed along with parental guidance and love. “A man ain’t nothing but a man,” said Baby Suggs. “But a son? Well now, that’s somebody.”(beloved) It will be hard to become a man without a man providing manly information and confirmation to manhood especially when there is a nation of people against you being human. The men without skin is without it for a reason “It makes sense for lots of reasons because in all of Baby’s life as well as Sethe’s own, men and women were moved around like checkers. Anybody Baby Suggs Knew, let alone love, who had run off or been hanged got rented out, loaned out, bought up, brought back, stored up, mortgage, won, stolen or seized.” African-Americans were moved around for a reason and that reason was to disrupt the improvement of their cognitive abilities.man hood was naturally in Paul D  But “if you didn't know you should know now how” to outsmart oppression with the power of knowledge utilizing manhood. The fire in you have should never go out, for justice and love awaits, and remember even after death our souls are alive enough to be loved.

“The Raise of Reparation for the Victims of Forgotten Crime”

A Dark Revisit of the Cold and twisted History of Slavery

The rebirth of sanctity is past due after a mental and physical chain of nasty events. Beloved, by Toni Morrison, explains a series of national, historic, slavery enriched, real-life moments. The notion of slavery was not too long ago. This saga reveals multiple lives abuse while being enslaved and how moments in time can either live to haunt you or die without an apology then forgotten by future generations. If a person never knew about their past they will never know where they came from. Details of slavery and oppression should be analyzed and revisited for safety precautions “It was not a story to pass on” (324). This novel helped raised important questions about maintaining efficacy of African-Americans past future justice. The reason why it is not a story to pass on is because if you were to try and tell this tale specifically, it will be told incorrectly due to the fact of its mystic complexity. The world has fixed the minds of today’s society to forget our evil past. “Everyone knew what she was called, but nobody anywhere knew her name.” (323)

Although Morrison may have been writing about the murdered third child of the character by the name Sethe, she was subliminally calling upon the readers to remember and research the past of African American slaves in general. The call of community duty applies. My collective if unconscious started to raise valid demands about how much justice is owed to my race. Flashbacks of films and powerful black leaders being assassinated streamed my mind while soft whispers of my conscience said to me “Jim Crow’s ideas and oppression is still alive and working to annihilate true black activism.” Black love is constantly fading away in today’s time our younger generation knows nothing about slavery, yet they are products of the after affects. “So they forgot her like an unpleasant dream during troubling sleep.” (324)

 If you don’t know anything about the harsh and heartless type of slave owners without skin of the past, then you would not know how to be prepared or deal with those of today or the future. The knowledge of greedy without mercy or integrity will be lost; therefore you would not be cautious of any of its organized attacks. “By and by all trace is gone, and what is forgotten is not only the footprints but the water to and what is down there.”(324) Obviously, what is down there is the names of actual victims unknown without justice given to them or the care and notion to “be loved” enough for someone to take the risk to fight for their faces like Beloved tried to do for herself. To be love is to be remembered, but when the heat is on sometimes like “the spring ice thawing to quickly” unexpectedly, things can get out of control, bloody. The notion of blacks asking for justice to be served, people to be arrested, and the worldwide apology to be given with reparation that will count is vital.

3 acres and a mule is not enough payment for the pain and suffering of our forgotten abused ancestors. Restitution is long past due for the blood sweat and tears shed in order to build the United States of America. That is the loneliness that roams. “No rocking can hold it down. It is alive, on its own. A dry and spreading thing that makes the sound of one’s own feet going seems to come from a far off place.” (323) Understanding now how this book was written to inspire us to never let time change without knowing true history and what had happened in detail; will allow you to bring justice for the ones who died a victim of a crime. If you don’t have knowledge of what happened in times before, you may find yourself assisting evil as it repeats itself. The clueless never knows what is to come. Sometimes a victim can forgive, but they should never forget any wrongdoings. Karma is as real as the universe and is connected to the spirit of mistreated people that never dies.

Sometimes we the people have to revisit the sour and unpleasant past and lose the appetite for the present even if it is sweet and tastier. Don’t be uninquisitive especially when you have a sample of the abnormal and cruel. Demand the world to explain things you question, or you may find yourself being an accomplice to our oppressors. It is sad that people can be so evil that “a pretty little slave girl recognized a hat, and split to the woodshed to kill her children.” (186) revelations of hell on earth haunted my thoughts multiple times reading the living chapters of this book.

Beloved was murdered and died violently without justice and that is why she returned for restitution and revenge. If African-Americans of today was to try to retrieve compensation for the free labor and the abundance of offenses; it would be a long tough fight. Evil that existed in the beginning of time is still alive and strong enough to prove good to be old and irrelevant. But we have to claim our self-worth, “freeing yourself was one thing; claiming ownership of that freed self was another.” (111-112) moreover, that is after justice for all victims, of the past and present, did or alive yet forgotten and unloved become valid in due season.

“Truth is life written out in complete detail.”

The will of change is visible and distinguished by the persons in need of it.

page 316 stated “in five tries he had not had one permanent success. Everyone escapes (from sweet home, from Brandywine, from Alfred, Georgia, from Washington, from Northpoint) had been frustrated.” The will of change was made visible by Paul D written in this passage by (Toni Morrison).

I can see who have the power to live and thrive and who has a broken soul throughout my studies.

page 320 Sethe explains “I’m tired, Paul D. So tired. I have to rest a while.” Now he knows what he is reminded of and he shouts at her, don’t you die on me! This is baby Suggs bed! Is that what you planning?”

“A expired heart is visual and in need for explanation in order to be repaired.”

Paul D felt the release of the spell from beloved and restored his manhood accordingly.

“Bad memories attack the mind as the president pushes rewind at times throughout the book.”

While Sethe is growing week beloved is growing strong

The pregnant woman on the porch was Sethe’s soul in transition to her family rebirth and alteration. This was a story to pass on, but not initially. Hard times never be forgotten but learned from…Pain could never be forgotten if the soul never dies (paranormal)

Concrete love for a child is beloved by its mother.

A good life is granted and grateful to one whom had the known opposite.

Denver was in need of change, as she stepped off the edge of the world for assistance. I learned that womanhood is colorful and passed down by the flesh, so I believe that the spirit of the hostile ghost of the third child Beloved had come up out of the blue water to receive the strength of a woman that she felt owed her a face, womanhood and a soul deliverance type of an apology.

Liberation is something urged by the mistreated thinker.

Be militant in this battle in the change of our current society’s reality

We have to change the notion of “every man or women for them self” and grow more united creating more resources, which will allow us all to take part in the counter action of today’s evolution of poverty

Let’s be active and create clear pathways for success using knowledge as our main weapon till victory.

"Human is Human" (part 6)

“Human is Human”

Human is Human, “if a person cannot see similarities within every race they are ill.”

Morrison states: "There is a notion out in the land that there are black people or Indians or some other marginal group, and if you write about the world from that point of view, somehow it is considered lesser." Rejecting anything other than full membership in humanity for black people, she asserts her credo: "We are people, not aliens. We live, we love, and we die."

Through all of the memories pity was something strong slaves did not want. Pages 224 and 225 explain the power trip of white men in the 1800s. Sixo got caught stealing meat and got beat by his master after being verbally abused and psychologically tortured. Temptation is not new, it has existed before the creation of mankind, the earth, and before the assembly of time.

Part two of the extreme literature by Toni Morrison page 246 and 247 explains how people look down on babysitting because of her children being conceived by colored men. Those twisted slave owners look down on her, but Morrison stated on page 247 that “she slaves not to have pleasurable feelings on their own; the bodies not supposed to be like that, but they have to have as many children as they can to please whoever owned them.”

(white men) it is funny how a person can call someone an animal, not human, and a slave, but then have sexual intercourse with whom you believe be is an unequal. Ancient is the time of slavery the days were time was told by the sky’s and the cock’s crow. She holds the tree on her back every whip connecting slavery history together as a family tree. Ohio was not the place to be.

Beloved is she beloved is he who holds the key to sethe heart and mind that think pass the pain of the baby calls. The handprints and evil that scared her brothers away the questions were raised by notorious memory tattooed on the soul without salvation.

The force of love and hate lived compelling, yet apprehensive to comprehend until you are magically drifted into the world behind the text.

I never read such a dreamlike story of pure love, and absolute opposite intertwined with a twisted dark side of horror and mental haunting. This books challenge my ability to expand my writing techniques… Shot out to Mr. de Wit’s English 4 class of 2013.

“Powerful, resilient, and black”

This is a poem that was based on the royal strength in the book beloved by (Toni is Morrison) winner of the Noble peace prize.

The days of humanity washed away by men

Woman the blame of this corrupted intelligence biblically written

The rivers small compared to the oceans, but they are connected one way or another

likewise is human powerful, resilient, and divers…

If a man and woman was said to be the start of the world and names, then “I can say that we are all connected.”

If Noah really built an ark, then I can assume that we are all connected.

I thank my teacher for allowing my mind to run free as it can be

They say things happen for a reason now I see more than I have been shown before.

Paul D is me powerful, resilient, and black…

Life is connected to what you experience and relate to

Pain itself

Fixing dinner whereas making dinner is the way of the unstable

Nonexistent gratitude and earned appreciation unknown by the majority, white supremacy created a repeating rigorous surplus of hopelessness that sprinted through the minds of the helpless victims.

Sethe, Denver, beloved, and Baby Suggs etc. all  had super woman powers emerged from the slaves who survived that awfully dreadful quest from Africa to America 

Agony is an easy description of that criminal voyage, the survivors were strong enough to make it

In a sense we are those who have emerge with the power from the survivors of the most deadliest, most toxic-unsanitary trip of all times

The bond within that bondage of time our ancestors had had had to be broken by our devilish oppressors
Surviving whether stronger than page 151 and the cause of it was beloved’s scrutiny for sethe.

My grandfather Lee Ashley once told me that “the white man used to tell their darters that African-American males had tails like reptiles and animals.” The way he treated women at restaurants led me to believe that he was once a womanizer. My grandpa stated with a crooked bright smile, that “all of the white women in his town believe it until they found out that our tales are in the front.” We laughed a laughter fit for two black Giants.

I can tell that my grandpa something like Paul D, he may hard times seem durable.

"Slaved Endeavors" (part 4)

 Slaved Endeavors 

Paul D was a good hearted X slave, who has lived his entire life on his feet. “Numbness for a heart is he who bared witness to slavery and suffering.” Usually, if a person has been through the misery of slave like Paul D, the outcome and behavior of that person is typically unstable, cold hearted, and grimy.

She Paul D was the complete opposite. Paul D had life over death; Paul had the strength of a worldly God. Paul D could have been the opposite of himself being cheerful, sensitive, and charismatic. Paul D sensed the inborn energy beloved illuminated towards him, yet he ignored the magnitude of evil. Beloved strengths began to become greater than the words and suggestions from the (man of the house on 124 Bluestone Road.

In The seduction of Paul D by beloved was shocking yet the death of a African Americans was a norm, so for a man in those days to have multiple partners of color were almost necessary. That belief of inequality and power control was alarming.

 The methods of captivity have evolved like everything else on this planet. As I read the blood spewed on paper in the book beloved, my conscience chanted in stereo like audio paned left and right “The Identity of a man or woman is buried deeper than the heart being the sole and history of ones spirt.” This quote originated supernaturally to me while reading pages 13-14. The tree on Seth back weakened the strong suit of Paul D’s restricted manhood.

Paul D is the symbol of a striving black man, stripped from his ancestor’s culture and traditions. In south-central California 2012 a neighbor on the cross streets of 23^rd street and central Avenue had said to me the most powerful statement I’ve ever heard in my 33 years of living. She stated “black people need each other and we are brainwashed to believe the notion (of every man for himself).”

That anger and deceit by the beloved was difficult force made of pure negative history of enslavement that continued to nurture the life of the ghost turned flesh.(Dearly beloved…) Paul D dislike the fact of the sure (Redrum) on Sethe’s hands but destiny return.

 Love is strong… looks are not who you are… The love that Paul D grew for Sethe was unconditioned, considering he had no physical attraction for her after eight years of separation. I felt that their pass struggles were somehow connected to the love and the bond that they endured for one another. (Slaved Endeavors) to be contenued...

"Sethe is The Target and Hardship is Her Predator” (part 3)

“Sethe is The Target and Hardship is Her Predator”

Unfortunate, is the life of Sethe, I knew this instantly when I read that her mother had to show her marks on her slaved body in (part one) of the book Beloved, by (Toni Morrison.) Sethe days were as bloody as it was real. mother hung at sweet home. Nasty Skinless and heartless white men delivered Blunt Discomfort, soreness, and desperateness that which prayed on her surroundings.

 The stomach quenching distress was caused by a child ghost of her wounded pass, and it was chased by a gruesome life of the sweet home slavery rhetoric. I read the book Beloved as a lost student, until the pages started to come to life, slowly pulling me into the 1800’s cruel realities. I started to feel the floor, windows and doors of my living room tremble when the ghost shook the house in the battle between it and Paul D.

 I felt the release of the spirit leave the shack house alone as if I was a resident of “blue-stone Rd.” I looked around the room in an abnormal fear. The pages grew wide and the words made faces appear in time of the giving actions.

The forward read  that “The Black Book summarized the story of Margaret Gardner, a young mother who ,having escaped from slavery, was arrested for killing one of her children (and trying to kill the others) rather than let them be returned to the owner’s plantation.” The article later stated the meaning behind this notion, “she had the intellect, the ferocity, and the willingness to risk everything for what was to her the necessity of freedom.” I began to hear soft voices from old soles of slaves as the rusty chains made surround sounds in connection with them.

My ancestor’s Terror entered my newly haunted space. Tears began to flow clear blue following the feelings of all the  hurt and pain that was received by slaves and now forgotten. The life of this character is not far from today’s time. The heroine of it all holds the key to a self-proclaimed freedom and numbness to death and torturer permitted Legal.

 “Sethe is Margaret” love was the spark to the death of her child because of being victim to the devils logic behind idea of institutionalized criminal enslavement. Sanity is far from broken, yet the tale of the beloved provides the world with multiple reasons to raise and create more questions of liberty and justice to all color, race and natural creed.

“Be aware of evil because Predators need pray” this book reassures us that this type of story with those types of slave owners, were too real to have just disappeared into our society. This type of evil still exists, because its descendants are living within our community today. ( KKK's) still Exist.

"The 1800's is not far from today" (part 2)

The 1800’s is not far from the 2000’s 

On the rural racist areas of Ohio’s out skirts the haunted house lived a young angry ghost named Beloved. it was written that the name "Beloved" made up the seven letters that slave sex paid for to be engraved on her tombstone. Life is revealing Secretes of black bloodstained past, telling the divisions of slavery history.

 the 4th child by sethe, Denver was a lonely sole who disliked Paul D, a man who found Sethe by surprise destiny. Paul D was a runaway slave from the sweet home plantation.

Sethe gave him a warm welcome into “124” eerie activities. The spirit shook the house indicating the dislike of Paul’s presence. The bloody red puddles and light troubled Paul and pump fear in his caring heart.

People have to build strategies and mindset that will allow them to stay focused on retrieving a better future, for page 51 states “To Sethe , the future was a matter of keeping the pass at bay. “The “better life” she believes she and Denver were living was simply not that other one.” unfortunately Sethe’s past transitioned constantly, revisiting herself made present life of Complete coping.

Every day Sethe was reminded of how immoral her pass was, because her baby was named after a Caucasian lady Amy Denver. This white lady in search of velvet, was said to be brought into sethe's life by the power of the baby Beloved. It came to me violently, Beloved had had enormous strengths as a fetus. A evil fear ran naked within my mind. Though she saved Sethe's life and helped her to give birth to Denver, there was more harm done to slaves then good. (Page 287) explains this notion in detail within the battle between Sethe and Her grandma Baby Suggs. “There is more of us they drowned then there is all of them ever live from the start of time. Lay down your sword. This single battle; it’s a route.”

These were some of her Grandma Susan’s final words.  Suggs also on the other hand, wanted Denver to leave the nest for several different reasons, one main reason was for her to grow up, another was for her to be strong enough to contribute and help.  Denver was upset at the fact that Paul got rid of the ghost that was keeping her company. The good times spent with Paul at the carnival was good while it had lasted.

Sethe did not want to leave this house, because she had a sense of ownership for once. Slaves were not allowed to own anything and racism was led by fear and humiliation, so it made perfect sense that Sethe was tired of running from things that feared her. Victims will eventually grow numb to harsh environments and repeated threats and cruelty. “Time will tell when enough is enough” and that is when a community come together and fight side by side to sustain humanization and freedom. with that said "the 1800's is not far from the year 2000's."

“I was inspired to write this poem after reading this fascinating tale of pain, and determination to live. Following this poem I will interpret the meaning and the feelings that I experienced.”

The ways of hate are corrupt and damaging to the sole...

Fear can be used to enslave and control.

If you focus on life, death would be defeated…

(Denver birth in a canoe)

Evil is fed by the week and mistreated.

(Sethe’s baby coming back in the flesh) = Beloved.

Love can restructure a woman’s emotions…

Time will reveal the ill and obnoxious.

Life can be punishing, love can be bloody and dark…

True change can be made by the decision of the heart.

                Interpretation:  

I wrote this poem first without the names and my thoughts from the book (Beloved By Toney Morrison.)

“The ways of hate are corrupt and damaging to the sole.”

Most people hate to be “Hated on.”  And I am a firm believer of the saying “treat others as you would like to be treated.” Therefore if you don’t want to be a slave why make others enslaved? Why would you give pain to someone if you hate to have pain? Corruption and sickness is in affect within these radical notions.

The school teacher had to have been sick to be able to watch a helpless lady being robbed for her baby’s nourishment. I felt miserable and stranded reading this story of mental and physical malice. The evil of mankind unraveling before me was indeed believable as realistic black history.

The fear inflected upon the victim was calculated to control the rest of that slave life and it included a main part in the death of many like the dearly beloved.

People like Amy was the essential to the end of slavery and segregation, though she was raised racist she had a heart otherwise. Amy was focused on a life in Boston wrapped in velvet she was a big help to sethe because she had helped her stay alive enough to deliver baby Denver when she could have stayed on her mission  she made a detour of black support.

Death was defeated when Paul D put up a good fight for his life against the baby ghost in (part one of this book.) Paul’s strengths were driven by massive fear.  Paul demeanor reconstructed sethe’s blood red, unbalanced emotions. Evil pray on the weak, so the defeat was not permanent. The love, jealousy, and mystery thereafter, was evolving after the blue silence of the supernatural spirit anger.  

Unfortunately, Evil reformed and arrived transformed into the flesh of the dead Beloved.

In my English for class at Chabot community college the students are intensively developing ways on how to be physically, mentally, and financially stable. This semester has introduced vital notions of survival and well-being to me.

The questions that are raised in our classroom environment all have extreme important knowledge behind them. The Daraja communal legacy has enlightened me with knowledge that will allow me to proceed in the right direction.

The students have powerful, educated, voices in the Emoja family of scholars and I believe that is the exact reason why the logo of this program is a stairway to success. “When a person is able to speak out loud and proud articulately, they are considered to be less stressed out than others, and are able to conquer life’s skirmishes with pride and certainty.

 Knowing all about how to do positive and influential things that are necessary for one to be able to benefit and own land in the United States of America is very important. Having a support group like Mr. Tom de Wit fall English class of 2013, allows us to individually develop a sense of belonging. This type of atmosphere is better than the normal classroom environment. It seems as if we make up the class curriculum by dissecting deep lectures and classroom discussions. This is how all teachers can relate their syllabus to the students.

Unfortunately, my parents have never owned a home and probably never will. The United States of America economy has been scarce. There are criminals within our banking system that are currently getting away with crimes equivalent to, or worse than bloody murder. The banks are the reason why many people are homeless today.

During my research I came across facts of life in real estate, I found that people were being swindled by our United States banking system. And that everything usually goes hand-in-hand when it comes to the economic system. There is no question why our government has recently shut down.

The solutions to our problems are found in the book titled “the rich and the rest of us” by (Tavis Smiley and professors Cornel West.) Page 38 stated “to get out of this economic mess we must thoroughly dissect the missing pieces that placed almost 50,000,000 of us in this calamitous position. Greedy and gluttonous individuals and institutions must be exposed and brought to justice”... With that said, the power is within the people; therefore, we must have to learn how to effectively utilize it.

I was fortunate enough to be able to explain the way I feel about notion of our recent government shutdown in our Chabot college spectator newspaper article of Thursday, October 17, 2013. I explained with concern that, “If we are supposed to be the leading and most powerful country, how is it that we are so far in debt? It’s mind boggling to me because we are supposed to be the richest country and we also have starving children. I also feel that an investigation is necessary in order to put the ”banksters” as we should call them on trial.”

Most people were cheated into homes that they could not afford “It is up to our nation’s civilians, teachers, scholars and professors to create the blueprint of success for all, and not the blueprint of being poor and homeless for all.”

It was a beautiful Monday morning, when our English class gathered vital questions raised during our daily classroom discussion and lectures and made a list of them on the whiteboard.

These eleven important questions were raw, and real, which were made up by the students of the class, yet organized by our teacher asking the class about essential aspects of life. Questions such as what is the meaning of dismantling one’s safety net? I learned from my classmates on the day of our research data sharing discussion assignment, that this question can be answered by the notion of question number three on our list which asked, “How are our nation’s manufacturing jobs being converted into low income jobs?” And as these essential things begin to intertwine with each other I can see and feel myself and the class grow within.

By the end of the day each question 1 through 11 was assigned 3 to 4 members creating individual research groups. My group was Analicia, Valerie, Kaylen and myself, Leo Evans, we were assigned question number two. Question two asked us, “How do mortgages work?” We have to collectively gather the information that will allow us to teach our peers the proper way to successfully complete a mortgage with the banks. We all contributed in the making of the main process.

Analicia quest was to do researched to be able to Explain to us during our wed classroom discussion “what a Mortgage is she established that, according to (CNN magazine article 2013 on Are we still heading toward 5% mortgages?) “A mortgage is a loan procured by a buyer to pay off the seller of a piece of property in full. The buyer then owes the lender the total amount borrowed, plus interest and fees. As collateral or guarantee of payment, the lender holds the deed or ownership of said property, until the buyer pays the mortgage off. However, the buyer occupies the property as if it were already their own.”

Kaylen Explained returned and researched the procedures and requirements of a down payment; she taught us that according to (GMAC mortgages magazine article 2013 )“the down payment on a mortgage is the lump sum that you must pay upfront that which lessens the amount of money you have to burrow. You can put as much down as you want but the normal amount is 20% of the house cost.”

Example: If you  and your spouse together make 60,000 a year (which was the case for  first -time home buyers in 2009), you can probably buy a 180,000 home if you have moderate debt (debt payments of 12% of your income ), and a 240,000 home if you have little or no debt and can make 20% down payment.”

Valerie had the section on different types of mortgages, “What is the difference between fixed- and adjustable-rate mortgages?” She shared detailed data with us that Wednesday afternoon. Valerie found that according to (mortgage.com) “a fixed rate mortgages offers an interest rate that will never change over the entire life of the loan. Monthly mortgage payments remain the same for 15, 20, or 30 years, depending on the length of your mortgage.” The only numbers that might change are property taxes and any insurance payments included in your monthly bill.

30 year fixed rate is the longest loan; a person will pay the most in interest. That might not seem like a good thing, it also allows you to deduct the most in interest payments from taxes. This long-term loan locks in the lowest monthly payments.

20 year fixed rate are harder to find, but the shorter term will allow a homebuyer to build up more equity in their home sooner. Since they’ll be making larger monthly payments, the interest rate is generally lower than a 30-year fixed mortgage. 15 year fixed rate has the same benefits as the 20-year term meaning, (one will have a quicker payoff, and will gain higher equity, and lower interest rates), but the homeowner will have an even higher monthly payment. Adjustable mortgages are adjustable and are subject to change under the refinancing notion. She also answered the sub Question of “what would your monthly mortgage be for a $400,000 house?” your mortgage would be $2,300 per month, and that is not including property taxes.

I Leo Evans receive the research on common loans; I discovered according to the facts of (bank rank.com 2013) the process of a 30 year loan vs. a 15 –year loan. The advantages of a 30 year loan are that the monthly payments are low and with the 30 year mortgage you can qualify for a much larger loan and by much larger or nicer house. The downside is that you have to make payments for extra 15 years versus a 15 year loan you would pay a lot more total interest over the life of the loan. Yet, in most cases you will go with a 30 year loan. We then had Analicia type up all of our data so that we were able to articulate our discoveries to our peers professionally.

 We can’t get forget about closing costs you will need to pay a closing costs from your savings (lowering the amount available for a down payment), or qualify for a long that’s a little larger than the house you want to buy, and have the closing costs added to the loan (which is called “rolling the closing costs” into the mortgage).

Unfortunately, there is a higher power that has a lot to do with the evolution of poverty. Apparently, I have heard that in today’s economic challenges “the American dream can only become a reality if you are in a deep sleep.” We have to annihilate all inhumanity in order to have freedom, justice and housing for all. It is our job to promote equality and to make the evolution of property solution, a top priority within our government agendas.

Midterm Assignment #2

In the process of creating the agenda on the group research question, “how does mortgage work?” Our group met up in class and outside of the class several times organizing ways that we can each tackle sections of interest regarding the question at hand.

                We arranged four different areas of our topic splitting up the total process of how to successfully completing a mortgage in four phases.  For example, Analicia was given phase One, she had to thoroughly research the operation of the down payment part of completing a mortgage, and Valerie was given the duty of explaining the way fixed mortgages work etc. Kaylen had to research closing costs and I was fortunate enough to research the difference between a 30 year loan versus a 15 year loan, explaining the advantages and disadvantages of this notion.

The first days of organizing how we were going to introduce our discovery to our classroom we congregated and collaborated on teaching the curriculum of mortgage. Our group decided to go home after school and do our own personal, thorough, research on our topic and return the following class day on a Wednesday afternoon to share with one another.

Our class starts at 1:30 PM. The Daraja community usually starts off with our professor offering fresh fruit to the class. “It makes me feel good to know that I am in a class room that is led by one who cares for the student.”

On Wednesday, When we were given the permission to have our Daily classroom discussion, we gathered our information together and began to discuss the content of mortgage in which we individually research and collected. I was happy that we all did what we said we were going to do, because collectively we had come up with the perfect steps on the main stages on how to complete a mortgage in today’s economic time.

Midterm Assignment One Mortgages

The English 4 midterm question that my group had to research was “How does Mortgages Work?” I was pleased to be able to work on a research paper about one of the most important things for an US citizen to have knowledge of.

My classroom is full of great, young, and ambitious minds that needed to know these type things. I am one of the oldest students in this class and I am a renter, yet I was not able to explain the details or process of owning a home when the question was raised in room 805 at Chabot College, on a beautiful Monday morning of October, 2013.

.. Out of approximately eleven vital questions given to research as a young adult and citizen of the United States of America, the question my group received was the question everyone my age should have known about. I am 33 years of age I was born January 6, 1980 in south-central California. Sometime I blame my parents for my lack of these types of knowledge.

I prepared my paper cautiously by utilizing the Internet and magazine articles that explained most of the necessary information needed to explain how mortgage works to my peers. This was part of our assignment as a team.

For the past week my team; Analicia, Valerie, Kaylen and myself, Leo Evans has worked together using Google drive to organize our introduction and mission statement of the main process of successfully completing a mortgage deal.

 During our intense classroom discussions and research, I noticed that our professor, Tom de Wit was using current events, classroom ideas, and things that will surely relate and help the students in my class with their journey of adult life. I realized that Being a member of this Daraja community will definitely make me and my peers grow mentally, physically, socially and most of all, academically, and professionally.

Tavis Smiley and Cornel west debate vs. Bill O’Reily Response

Our economic system has been running unevenly, an investigation is long past due for the criminal actions that I believe caused our nation to become this far deep in debt. During the, Tavis Smiley, and Cornell west versus Bill O’Reilly debate, the question of “whether being poor is a social and personal problem…meaning that all poor people are underprivileged do to substance abuse and bad habits? Or, were their surcumbstanses caused by the banks deception. I believe that both can be true. Yet, “with every problem there is a cause and a solution to it.” Bill O’Reilly referred to the poor as a personal problem, but usually most of our problems in America are all caused by deceit and the trickery of Wall Street and our gov.

It is a fact that 1% of the population in the US has the majority of the actual currency. Tavis Smiley had mentioned that “one out of four corporations pay taxes.” My question is why and how is that legal? If you have a big corporation you should be able to afford and pay taxes. If the rich would agree to pay taxes that they evidently can afford I predict that it will allow the consumers to save more and if we the people save more we will spend more.

It is time to recognize the real. In the process of our economic evaluation and investigation, we shall demand that justice is fair and if any criminal behavior or question arise, then every person involve should be put to trail like any other person would have.  The economy will benefit and prosper without evil, and greedy, con artists.

When the notion of whether the banks committed a crime or not was raised Bill O’ Riley said that no crime was committed. Cornell West had replied that “there was never a criminal investigation  performed to have a chance to have discovered any possible criminals of the homeowner scandal. It is obvious to see that America has been built by crime and has been prospering off bloodshed and unpaid criminal acts.

 It is obvious that the banks and our government have conned the nation. it is a crime that Americas tax money is being misused and it should be a crime that food is being wasted, while American children starve as poverty began to evolve around them.
Unnecessary wars are being fought and the people of America are forced to pay with their back breaking, hard earned cash. Then Lay off season come and destroy the little income you have to support your family. Assistance is hard to get and once you get it you have to give it back, so it is actually a big loan. That is another scam, because they call it assistance.

The people who are still stuck in what i call "modern day slavery trade of (employment)," are stuck paying taxes that are being wasted on destructive war crafts “Deadly weapons of mass destruction,” such as the new F-35 fighter jets. According to [popular science magazine] “in 2001 our US taxes paid $85 billion to start paying for the construction of the F-35 fighter jet and it is going to end up costing us $165 billion dollars each plane. The rich should help pay this bill at the least.

We are spending money we don’t have on weapons of mass distraction that currently have hundreds of mechanical problems. “The Wall Street bail out was an apparent scandal. It struck me profoundly, that our nation is currently being bullied in multiparty ways. According to the book “The Rich and The Rest of Us” page 43 has a chart by “Chris Caruso and media mobilizing” that explain the "share of total wealth gain from 1983 to 2009." This page shows a graph of a real-life story of a man named, Jack. Jack like many others during the poverty research had mentioned that ‘’he wish that jobs will come through” he had wanted Obama to do what he had promised us. “Jack did not want to live homeless or in homeless shelters for the rest of his life”, he wanted to work to support himself like every grown man or woman should. “If you had any common since our a little heart at all, you would know that all people are not poor by choice.” and America is being mislead.

            This page is cosigning the fact that we the intelligent people are faced with the need for strategized change. It is essential that we build a counteractive plan to overcome our current economic conundrum. We are responsible for making sure that our children; who are the future, are equipped with the most efficient resources in order to lead the nation.

“SF Chronicles Even Odds”

Education is the way out of the hood. I am a witness to that, I find school safe and it happens to be a positive way to escape being directly in the path of promised self-destruction. Having a place to go other than the streets is a blessing. It feels good coming from a place where I was not expected to graduate, stay out of the criminal system, and obtain an education. Now I am in position of achieving a high GPA in college. I am just a tad bit freer from incarceration, but headed in the right direction and learning how to prosper.

I grew up as a foster child and I feel that my plight had forced me to become a man at an early age. Part one of this article talked about fatherless children in their adolescence growing up like I did without a constant male figure or mentor. There were times when I needed fatherly support  and advice that would have saved me a trip to jail or prison. This Quote in the Sf. Chronicle News Paper hit me at home. It said, “People who don't know better often mistake their street-smart survival skills, their uniform of sagging pants and a scowl, for malice. They live by rules they didn't make: Watch your back. Be aware of your surroundings. Don't venture beyond the invisible borders where you belong.”  I had to learn the hard way. Being fatherless meant I was a child without mentorship, parental guidance, or assistance.

I have learned that time would tell when people need to change. I agree that we have to “refuse to succumb to negatives; we should learn how to replace fears with hope.”

I believe that if kids are taught how to become leaders at an early age, it will prevent them from being involved with negativity. The nation will have a better chance of being whole and successful. We have to make big plans and goals in life and believe in ourselves to accomplish them strategically, one step at a time.

Never forget, know that there are overt racist – nonbelievers, and people who are still alive to make the lives of African-American people a nightmare. The Willie Lynch letter on “how to control a slave” is still being utilized. The African-American people are still being affected by this cruel, and effective strategy that has been creating the downfall of African American people.

This is affecting the way we communicated with each other, the way African cultural tradition bonded and loved in Africa. Let us not ever lose the word African out of the word African American, because we should never let our younger, future,  generations forget where we all came from. The “Willie Lynch letter” is the reason why only 50% of Chabot college black students graduate. How else can a grade point average drop from 4.0 to a low 0.2 in grade school? Without someone or something being the cause of action.

This article explains the difference between Robison being a non-credentialed teacher and able to relate to the kids that he served, and credentialed teachers who still believe in the old school system that is failing our black students. “Time would tell when change is necessary like now; the city is attempting to fix this problem. Some questions are too late?" The first part of this article leads perfectly into the second part: titled… ‘’Oakland Class Offers Black Male Hope’’

African-American students battled a dismal reality that they are more likely to be killed than to be college ready graduates of high school.

1.       Reality Checks: Shirts with pictures of dead peers on them

2.       Fact: One hundred dead, 80 graduated students.

Robison is tatted up like Art, the Striving Black brother leader at Chabot College, and they are positive and very trustworthy individuals. Yet the police would profile people like them and mistake them as criminals. They have turned their lives around and are now mentors and teachers to our youth.

Robison and Art are prime demonstrations of strong black male role models, and that is what is needed to replace the ignorant role models, and students of malice and crime. Robinson lives in Oakland, and he described it as ‘’the nature of the beast.’’

Mid Part two: Explained - how we have to prove statistics wrong. It is time for us to elect and identifying the positive advocates for our youth. “Black boys need advocates”, the superintendent Smith said that "this notion of development is the most important efforts in the country”… But, later he stated in part two of this article that “these children are animals.” That to me sounds discouraging and incompetent. And also sounds like he was referring to the children that are results of  “the making of a slave” by Willie Lynch. His “foolproof method for controlling black slaves confirming the promise and guarantee of everyone that if installed correctly it would control the slaves for at least 300 years”…

Part two of this article also explained how Willie Lynch used slaves against each other. He use the light versus the dark, female versus the man, the old versus the young black slaves and it is still working invisibly.

Time is telling us to change by proving the statistics incorrect, and the only way to do that appropriately is to raise the percentage of African-American academics, and professional achievements.

In the’’ balancing act’’ section of part two, a student by the name of Barry Williams, shared the serious side of life without joking. He was a sophomore who said he hated white people and he began to let off his frustrations to a younger class of students. Williams asked serious questions to the class, he asked… “Who is controlling you?” and I felt that deeply. Everyone should ask themselves that question.

Art Barbosa my mentor and the director of the Striving Black Brothers Coalition once told me that “if you don’t utilize your time someone else will.”

 Jahi who is the middle school instructor at Etna Brewer middle school, stated that “we can’t change what’s happening outside in the world, we give them tools to maneuver within it.” Jahi encourages children to think, be polite, pay attention, study, contain their anger, work in teams, and respect themselves and others.  Jahi was livid when a math teacher forgot to give a young black student the extra credit that he asked for so that the young man could catch up with his school academics. This student was going through hardships as his parents moved house to house being homeless. This refers to how we have to build a blueprint of success so that we don’t end up in these types of grim situations.

“Segregation has nothing to do with it, improvement does.” When it comes to a program like this racism and negativity has no place. The third part of this article is as inspiring as when the principal, Stanley Johnston, stood at the front of the class and announces the start of a new day of academics. He projected his voice clearly, “good morning scholars, who are we?" As the young African American students replied in unison; "we are readers! We are responsible! We are empowered! We are accountable! We are excellent! We are respectful! We are scholars with the goal! We are ready to learn.” Then the principal, Mr. Johnson asked them “Who is ready to learn?” As they responded “We are.”

It felt good to hear this new start of scholastic black culture and how there are people who care, understand, and love our beautiful black children. A Hundred Black Men are giving back to society by bringing the academic strengths out of these kids. One of the officials stated “Be the player don’t get played.”
